A student of the 12th grade of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Almaty Aknazar Kazhymurat received a grant to study at Harvard.
The young genius plans to continue studying the topology at the world level. In this section of Mathematics Aknazar achieved great success. This gave him a unique chance to present his research work to Nursultan Nazarbayev during the forum of students and teachers “Uly Dala Muragerlery”, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Intellectual Schools. The Head of State gave ‘bata’ to Aknazar, praising the student’s scientific research and expressing confidence in his admission to the most prestigious university in the world.
The road of the Kazakhstani boy wonder to Harvard began with victories at the most famous olympiads in Mathematics and Physics. Most recently, Aknazar set a unique record on the ACT and SAT Subject Tests international exams, gaining a possible maximum – 36 out of 36 and 2,400 out of 2,400. According to the Harvard University website (https://college.harvard.edu), for the ACT, the 25th percentile of admitted students score a 33 and the 75th percentile score a 35.
“After finishing graduate school, I plan to do science in Kazakhstan,” - a student of the Intellectual School shares his plans.
Aknazar modestly admits that he does not consider himself a unique student and the results he achieved are an indicator of the success of the entire NIS system.
