Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan
According to the Constitution, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
Our army stands guard over the main values of Kazakh society - liberty, independence, peace and stability. Therefore, the Head of State focuses on the development of the Armed Forces. Nowadays, considerable resources are allocated not only for technological upgrading and acquisition of modern weapons, but also to improve the quality of life of our soldiers. Currently, Kazakhstan adopted a new military doctrine, increased calls for contract military service, in general, increases the prestige of the military profession.
On the eve of the 20th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan Commander-in-Chief signed a decree according to that the Government will initiate a bill establishing 7th of May as a public holiday - the Day of Defender of the Fatherland. Service in the armed forces is a school of patriotism for the people of Kazakhstan based on the heroic traditions of our ancestors - the defenders of the motherland.
President shows an increased concern for veterans. Nursultan Nazarbayev also regularly meets with the young cadets of military schools, conscripts and officers.
